1. Who is this accredited high school diploma program designed for?

This accredited, 100% online, High School Diploma Program program is designed for adults 18 and over that need a “regionally accredited” high school diploma to continue their studies at the next academic level such as a community college or trade school; or need to qualify for a job that requires a regionally accredited high school diploma. All city, state, and federal jobs require a regionally accredited high school diploma. There is no age limit. Must be at least 18 years of age to enroll.

2. Why is it important that I choose to receive a "regionally accredited" High School Diploma?

A regionally accredited association is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. A regionally accredited high school transcript is required for college admissions and for financial aid purposes. Colleges and trade schools evaluate the validity of the high school transcript that is submitted by the college applicant for admissions and for financial aid. High School Diplomas and transcripts that are not “regionally accredited” are rejected by colleges, trade schools, and employers on a daily basis and unfortunately cannot be used in many cases. American High School is regionally accredited for your peace of mind.

3. How long is the program?

The adult program is an accelerated 18 credit high school diploma program designed to be completed within 6 months however, the program can be completed sooner depending on how many credits you transfer from your previous high school. A minimum of 6 credits must be completed with American High School in order to receive the American High School Diploma.

NOTE: You have the opportunity to transfer a total of 12 credits from your previous high school that are a C grade or higher in the subject area that we offer. The more credits you transfer, the sooner you may be able to graduate.

5. Why should I choose

  • 100% online – 24 hour access / 7 days a week.
  • Accelerated 18 credit online program – No classes to attend and no end of program graduation exit exams
  • Study at home and at your own pace
  • Regionally accredited – may be used for city, state, and federal job opportunities, military enlistment opportunities, depending on military age enlistment requirements established by the U.S. Military, community college and trade school enrollment opportunities.
  • NOTE: The only limitation that you may have is that you cannot initially enroll in a brick and mortar 4-year traditional university due to the fact that you are graduating from an accelerated 18 credit program. However, you can initially apply to a 2-year community college and transfer those credits that you have earned to a 4-year university.
  • This is a regionally accredited High School Diploma and NOT a GED diploma. The GED diploma has a negative connotation. Employers understand that GED diploma recipients “dropped out of high school” and did not stick to graduating from a high school diploma program. From our experience, most employers prefer an applicant with a regionally accredited high school diploma rather than a GED.
